Welcome to Women’s Health Investigation!

Dear friends and fellow healthcare professionals,

Our field of women’s health is rapidly changing as technology and our knowledge grows. Improvement in treatment for women’s cancers, new medical therapy for conditions previously treated surgically and improved screening for common diseases are but a few of the advancements in the past decade.

We are also increasingly connected to each other through Internet based technologies such as social media and online publishing. There is major growth in research activities in women’s health and the need to disseminate these results rapidly and efficiently. The pace of traditional publishing via print journals cannot keep up with modern needs for dissemination of new knowledge. Women’s Health Investigation (WHI) will offer a method for rapid peer review and online publication to meet the current needs to provide up-to date research and information.

Our field is multi-disciplinary including physician specialties such as internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, radiology and family medicine to name a few. Additionally our nursing colleagues have developed expertise in women’s health with nurse practitioner training programs. Our new journal, WHI seeks to bring together all disciplines focused on improving the health of women. We seek to break down barriers between specialties and publish high-quality research from around the globe. As medical knowledge and treatment options increase we are in need of better information to help synthesize and inform our choices for our patients.

WHI seeks submissions from around the world on topics of interest to women’s health practitioners. The journal welcomes submissions from a broad spectrum of research, from basic/translational investigation to clinical trials to systematic reviews and current opinions from experts. We are committed to a fair and timely review process. Please join us a reviewer, author, reader and colleague in our journey toward a robust and relevant journal of women’s health!
