Dr. Luis Bahamondes is a professor of Gynecology at the University of Campinas Faculty of Medical Sciences, in Campinas, SP, Brazil. Dr. Bahamondes received his M.D. degree from the Federal University of Cordoba, Argentina, completed medical training and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cordoba, Argentina, the University of Republic, Montevieo, Urugauy and at the Mexican Social Security Institute at Mexico city, Mexico. His PhD degree was obtained at the University of Campinas, Brazil. After residency he joined the University of Campinas' Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1977 as assistant professor, them was associated professor and finally professor of Gynecology. He was consultant at the World Health Organization and JHPIEGO, among other institutions, and former chair at the Family Planning clinic and at the Department at the University of Campinas. His clinical and research interests include contraception and endometriosis. His practice was only at the teaching public hospital practicing medical and surgical procedures and teaching medical students and residents. Also, he conducting researches with FHI360, the WHO, The Population Council and CONRAD among others.
